Website positioning are activities whose aim is to raise the position of a given page in the search results. Often together with positioning the term SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is used. It concerns the optimization of the website, as we wrote in another guide. Optimization is an indispensable step preceding the positioning of websites, so we encourage you to read the text optimizing a website.
Guide and More Now
There are many different positioning techniques thanks to which your website will display high in the so-called organic search results. Although thanks to AdWords advertising, you can reach the top of the search results in a shorter time, positioning the website in organic results is of great importance. You can check this website for the best deal.
Website positioning techniques can be divided into two main categories. The first of them, called natural positioning, are activities aimed at making the website more attractive by posting unique, engaging content and expanding the content of the website in accordance with the search engine regulations.
To support the natural positioning of the website, we need reliable optimization, including optimization of the code and content, selection of relevant keywords and increasing the popularity of the website, which can be obtained by creating many links leading to the website. The links that appear in the TOP 3 organic results after entering a specific phrase, clicks on average 30-50% of recipients. The lower places on the first page are on average 10-20%.
Positioning through manipulation techniques
The second category is manipulative (spamming) techniques, which in short are attempts to circumvent the mechanisms of search engines to lift positions. An example is the generation of two different page contents, where one is created for the real recipient and the other for search engine robots. Such actions threaten to completely remove the page from the search engine index (the website will stop appearing in the search results).
Indexing of the website
To inform Google robots about a new page, you must first crawl it. To do this, you can take a few steps. You can fill out a short form located under the link, however, as Google points out – the date of appearance of the page is not guaranteed in any way, just like the very fact that the page exists in the index.
Fortunately, there are other ways to effectively crawl the page, for example, making the robot go to a new page through the pages directory or via a link on another, already active page. In order to monitor whether a given page is indexed by Google, it is worth using webmaster tools (or make sure that the agency or the person you outsource positioning is fluent in).
Data collected in this way are indexed and placed in the search engine database. On websites that frequently update content e.g. news sites, bots appear even every 5-10 minutes. It all depends on the algorithms that the robots are subject to. At other times, the robot can visit the site, e.g. every 1-2 days, saving the current copy in the database. You can write more than one text about what happens to the data collected in the database about 200 items are taken into account, and the algorithms develop results based on up to 500 million variables.
